Total Mortgage Arena, Bridgeport

Updated June 2026 · 5 min read

The short version

The Total Mortgage Arena is Fairfield County's biggest indoor room — a roughly 10,000-seat downtown Bridgeport arena that opened in 2001 (and was long known as the Webster Bank Arena). It books arena-level tours, family shows, and sports, and sits right next to the train station and I-95.

When a big indoor tour comes to southwestern Connecticut, the Total Mortgage Arena is usually the room. It anchors the lower-Fairfield-County scene with a true arena experience and an unbeatable location.

The arena (~10,000)

Opened in 2001 as the Arena at Harbor Yard — and known for years as the Webster Bank Arena before taking its current name in 2021 — the Total Mortgage Arena seats around 10,000 for concerts. That makes it the largest indoor venue in Fairfield County and one of the biggest in the state, booking arena-level pop, rock, country, and hip-hop tours along with family shows and sports (it's home to minor-league hockey and college teams).

Best for: arena tours and big production, close to home in lower CT.

Getting there is the easy part

The arena's location is a real advantage: it's in downtown Bridgeport, right off I-95 and steps from the city's Metro-North and Amtrak station. That makes it one of the most transit-accessible big venues in Connecticut — you can train in from New Haven or New York and walk to the door. The adjacent harbor-side Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater means downtown Bridgeport now covers indoor and outdoor at scale.

Best for: a car-free arena night.
