The Biggest Concert Venues in Connecticut, Ranked by Capacity

Updated June 2026 · 6 min read

The short version

Connecticut's largest concert venue is the open-air Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford (~30,000). The biggest indoor room is PeoplesBank Arena (~16,000), followed by the Mohegan Sun and Total Mortgage arenas (~10,000 each). Below is the full ranking, with a note: capacities are approximate and vary by stage configuration, and outdoor venues run mainly in summer.

"How big is it?" is one of the first things people want to know about a venue — it shapes everything from ticket price to sightlines to the kind of acts that play there. Here's how Connecticut's concert rooms stack up, ranked by their approximate maximum concert capacity.

How to read this list

A few things worth knowing. Capacities are approximate and shift with the stage setup — an arena "in the round" holds more than one with an end stage, and a flexible hall like College Street can run a 650-seat theater show or a 2,000-capacity general-admission night. Outdoor venues are seasonal, generally running spring through early fall. And the biggest room isn't always the best experience — many fans prefer the sound and sightlines of a 1,500-seat historic theater to a 10,000-seat arena.

Bigger isn't always better

If you're chasing a stadium-level headliner, the top of this list is where to look. But Connecticut's real strength is its mid-size and small rooms — see our guides to the best live music venues and best small & intimate venues in the state, where some of the best nights happen far down this ranking.
